Implanted Loop Recorder Test

What is it?

A loop recorder monitors the rate and rhythm of the heart. It can help to determine if unexplained transient symptoms are related to a heart rhythm problem. This test downloads all recorded information from the device, and should be performed as soon as practicable after a recorded event.

Preparation

Wear 2 piece clothing, as the technician will need to access the chest.

Results

Any abnormal results will be discussed with your cardiologist.
