Implanted Defibrillator Test
What is it?
An implanted defibrillator is a device placed under the skin used to reset dangerous electrical activity of the heart. Regular interrogation of the device is required to ensure its continued correct function and to estimate remaining battery life. This is achieved by placing a wand over the device. There is no invasive component to this test.
Preparation
Wear 2 piece clothing, as the technician will need to access the chest.
Results
Any abnormal results will be discussed with a cardiologist.
