Dr Onn Akbar Ali MBBS FRACP FCSANZ
Dr Onn Akbar Ali is an interventional cardiologist with special interests in coronary intervention and echocardiography (including stress and transoesophageal). Dr Akbar Ali joined SA Heart in 2006.
Onn graduated from The University of Adelaide in 1998 and undertook initial post graduate training in Adelaide before transferring to The Royal Prince Alfred and Concord Repatriation Hospitals for Advanced Training in Cardiology. He was admitted to Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2005. He was subsequently appointed as a Fellow in Coronary Intervention and Echocardiography for the period of 2 years to attain post fellowship, sub specialty skills in these areas.
Dr Akbar Ali joined the team at SA Heart in 2007 and consults regularly at North Adelaide and Ashford as well as Berri in the Riverland. He has admitting rights at Ashford and Wakefield private hospitals.
Apart from his private practice, Onn is a staff specialist at The Queen Elizabeth and Lyell McEwin hospitals and actively participate in 24 hours on call roster for emergency coronary intervention for the management of acute myocardial infarction.
