COVID-19 information

Your safety and continued access to essential services are our top priority. SA Heart has taken every precaution to ensure the ongoing safety of patients, visiting doctors, and support teams at all clinics.

What are we doing to keep you safe?

- + Masks

Despite changes to government directives, we still ask all patients, visitors and staff to wear masks. This helps us to reduce the risk of transmission in our clincs and to protect our vulnerable patients.

- + Do I need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend my appointment?

Whilst we encourage vaccination, SA Heart is continuing to provide essential cardiac care to all patients. We will ask for your vaccination status, to include in your records

- + Exposure to COVID-19

We ask that you do not attend any SA Heart clinic if you answer yes to any of the following:
  • Have you been in close contact with anyone who has a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 in the last 7 days?
  • Have you been tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting test results?
  • Are you currently displaying any of the following symptoms:
    • fever
    • cough
    • runny nose
    • shortness of breath
    • sore throat
    • loss of taste and/or smell

- + Safety protocols

SA Heart is aware that many of our patients are at higher risk of severe complications of COVID-19 and we are committed to providing ongoing essential care during this global pandemic. Our doctors continue to offer Telehealth consultations for those who are unable to attend in person.

SA Heart would like to reassure all of our patients that we continue to follow stringent safety precautions across all SA Heart clinics:
  • Bio-shields in place at reception desks at all clinics
  • Adherence to all social distancing directives including the distancing of our waiting room chairs
  • All examination couches are covered with a disposable towel and are wiped down with alcohol between patients
  • Hand sanitiser is readily available at all sites
  • No cash transactions. We ask that patients settle their account via Credit Card/EFTPOS & cheque only at this time. Patients will be informed of this at the time of booking.
  • The removal of all reading material & refreshments at all sites
  • Pens & clipboards at all sites are disinfected after each use
For patients with existing cardiovascular conditions, information on how to protect yourself from COVID-19 is available on The Heart Foundation website:

- + COVID-19 Vaccination program

As a general rule, our cardiologists recommend their patients are vaccinated against COVID-19.

For patients currently undergoing stable anticoagulation therapy, more detail can be found on the Australian Government Department of Health website - Vaccination for people with bleeding disorders.

All South Australians aged 12 and over are eligible for vaccinations against COVID-19.  Full details regarding the vaccination and FAQs can be found on the SA Health Website
