Dr Susie Parnham

Dr Susie Parnham MBBS BMedSci FRACP PhD FCSANZ is a cardiologist with special interests in cardiac imaging, myocardial ischaemia, coronary artery disease, heart failure and cardiomyopathy.

Dr Parnham graduated from University of Melbourne with dual degrees, BMedSci and MBBS. She had experience in various internal medicine specialties from Austin Hospital, Maroondah, Bendigo, Box Hill, including Renal (including transplant medicine), Gastro Hepatology, Endocrinology and Rheumatology. She completed advanced cardiology training at Austin Health, Eastern Health and Monash (Victoria) and was subsequently awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).

Susie underwent a cardiac imaging fellowship at Flinders Medical Centre, sub-specialising in cardiac MRI and echocardiography, including stress echocardiography. She has a particular interest in cardiomyopathy and diagnostic stress imaging to rule out cardiac cause, especially in patients with increased cardiovascular risk factors.

Susie completed her PhD in ‘Utility of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Ischaemia Assessment of Chronic Kidney Disease and Post Renal Transplant Population’, studying the cardiovascular phenotypes of the chronic kidney disease patients pre- and post transplantation and explored the presence of myocardial ischaemia and abnormal myocardial oxygenation response to stress that could contribute to the high cardiac event rates in these patients.  She presented at national and international conferences, and was awarded The Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSANZ) Research Scholarship, Flinders University Research Scholarship, Flinders University, European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Travelling Scholarship at ESC 2013 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, CSANZ Travelling Fellowship in 2013 at Gold Coast, Queensland, and SCMR Regional Scholarship by Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.

Dr Parnham provides specialist diagnostic testing and reporting, including stress ECG, echocardiography and stress echocardiography. She conducts regular clinics at our Flinders and Morphett Vale locations.

Susie also speaks Bahasa Indonesia.
